Dr. Ginsburg graduated from University of Illinois in 1985 with a
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He completed his
Masters program at Southern Illinois University in 1987 and earned
his medical degree at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine
in 1991. Dr. Ginsburg completed his General Surgery Residency
In 1996 and began practicing in the Festus, Missouri area later that
same year.
Dr. Ginsburg is a board-certified General Surgeon and has been
certified to perform the LAP-BAND® System procedure since 2008
by Allergan Medical, the LAP-BAND® System manufacturer. Since
his certification, he has performed the procedures in the Festus, St. Louis, and Farmington areas
in Missouri.
Dr. Ginsburg became a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery
in 2010 and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Ginsburg is a member of
the Missouri State Medical Society, American Society of General Surgeons, Society of
Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and American Society of Breast Surgeons.
In addition to his office practice, Dr. Ginsburg is on staff at several area hospitals and ambulatory
surgical centers. Although Dr. Ginsburg is dedicated to improving the health of all his patients,he has
found a great deal of enjoyment in caring for his bariatric patients. Working with these patients and
seeing the positive changes that come from losing weight with the help of the LAP-BAND ®
system is very rewarding. Dr. Ginsburg has the surgical skill as well as the compassion needed to
help patients who have already tried so many other times to make the positive life changes that are
necessary to become a healthier person.
Dr. Ginsburg and his office staff have been working together for years. We are committed to the
health, happiness, and well-being of all patients in our practice. Most of our staff members
have been with us over 5 years and our senior members have been working together for 10 to 15
years.
Dr. Ginsburg is married and has four children. He resides in Festus. In his spare time, Dr. Ginsburg
enjoys spending time with his family and watching school sporting events.
